As one of the founding members of The Beatles, Lennon, together with Paul McCartney, formed one of the most successful songwriting partnerships of the 20th century. As performer, writer, or co-writer he is responsible for 27 number one singles on the US Hot 100 chart. But it was his wit, his incisive intellect, and fierce commitment to art, love, and peace that made Lennon a leader and icon of his generation. This performance is in honor of Lennon's 70th birthday and 30th year since his passing.
